The Oscars. (Should I really care?)

Oscars vs Twitter

The first thing I did to see the buzz about the oscars was twitter. As I typed in the Oscars in the search engine, it only gave tagged status updates. I found this difficult to find general information. It was more non-celebrities asking questions and saying who was going to win.

Did you know - Of the 152 nominees at today’s luncheon, 6 are double nominees & 2 are triple nominees. #Oscars

Once I found the main holding page for the oscars I navigated myself around there profile. People say if you’re going to use twitter then you should have at least 3 posts a day that have nothing to do with the company/event. So they’re accomplishing this, but I feel that the information is to scattered for me. There were a few post from celebrities talking about the event. Now this can appeal to people depending on what there talking about. Examples: What are they wearing to the event, who there bringing, who they think will win awards, etc.

Oscars vs Facebook

When I first came across the facebook page I found it way easier to view the information. Facebook is more interactive compared twitter with just there status posts.  If someone who wanted to follow and keep up to date with the Oscars facebook is one of the easiest site to use. Defiantly be one stop trip to get all the videos photos and share your thoughts and ideas with other.

For me I honestly don’t really care about the Oscars. I can barely remember actors name let alone if they win awards. I feel I better things to interest myself in then keeping my heads in the clouds with the celebrities.

When it comes to the advertising world its all about connections. We may not of thought this before in first year, but as we progressed through the years all our fellow classmates are actually connections. Using Linkedin is amazing because when you have a connection with someone it will show other possible connections that might interest you. Which could led to a job, which then to a career. I personally just got a behancenetwork account which is online portfolio site. It host my portfolio so I can use this link to send to agencies when applying for a job. As well as you can view other creative peoples work and like them and comment on them. You never know who you will meet how they will effect you and where they’ll take you in life. So remember don’t make enemies and treat others with respect, regardless of how you actually feel for them.
